Conservatory "Under Floor / In Floor
Based" Heating System
|
Accolade
industry leading in floor based
heating systems for your conservatory
are better, safer, more energy efficient,
easier and more economical to install, operate
and maintain than conventional forms of
heating – and all that without those
unsightly radiators.
There is a perception that the luxury of
warm floor heating is high cost and high
maintenance. While this may have been true
in the past, it is no longer the case. Under
floor heating gives an even and extremely
comfortable heat with no current of hot
air to stir up dirt and dust. The absence
of unsightly radiators makes furniture placement
easier and creates a safer environment with
no hot surfaces.
Under floor heating radiates a comfortable,
even warmth, healthy, safe and clean heat
for the occupants and to the surfaces of
the room. There are no noisy fans or blowers.
You get the additional benefit of soft,
quiet heating, and you'll stay warm and
comfortable.

| How It Works |
| |
“Living
Heat’s” effectiveness is based
on two revolutionary and proprietary technologies:
amorphous ribbons and a powder made out
of amorphous material. An amorphous material
is a solid with internal structure of liquid.
An amorphous metal is a metal without crystallization,
meaning it has no defining shape. Amorphous
metallic alloys have a homogeneous structure
providing high physical, mechanical, anticorrosion,
wear resistant and magnetic properties.
Measurements of the magnetic field strength
generated by the AHT heating mats prove
that it is extremely low. |
| |
 |
Advantages
over other types of heating in conservatories:
- It fits directly
under all types of floor covering.
- It reaches
the working temperature faster than
other systems.
- It generates
a more even heat.
- It is less costly
and more economic to operate.
- It has low profile
and superior flexibility.
- It is extremely
simple and easy to install.
- It is perfectly
safe from electrical shock hazards
and electromagnetic radiation.
- It is reliable
and durable.

How It Is installed In Your Conservatory
Flexible “Living Heat” mats
come in 10 different sizes, which means
that they can cover rooms of various shapes
effectively. When installing them, for example
under tiles, the tile fixer simply lays
the heating mats directly between the sub
floor and tile. The same materials used
for laying tile are used for bonding the
electric radiant heating mats to your sub
floor. In the case of installation under
timber or parquet floors, the installer
lays the heating mats on the sub floor and
lays the timber elements directly on the
mats in the same manner as a standard timber
installation. A certified electrician can
complete the connection between the heating
mats and the electrical supply. No time-consuming
calculations, labour or additional materials
are required. |
| |
|
| |
These
“Living Heat“ mats are constructed
from wide metallic ribbons that cover at
least 25% of the floor area (compared to
only 1% to 2% in heating cables). This large
heat transfer area allows the heating element
to operate effectively at comparatively
low temperatures (approx 32° C compared
to the typical temperature range of over
60°C at the core of a common heating
cable) and still radiate the required heat
to the surrounding area. The low working
temperature allows direct installation of
timber, parquet or carpet above the heating
mats with no danger of damaging the finish,
texture or colour. |

|
| EXAMPLE: |
| |
For
this illustration we will take a five-sided
conservatory measuring 4m x 3m.
The “traffic*” area is 11 square
metres. With recommended coverage we should
lay a minimum of 9 square metres of mats.
Suggested mat
layout requirements.
2 @ 3.5m x 1m
1 @ 2.5m x 0.5m
2 @ 2m x 0.5m
Total area = 10.25m2
(93%)
*“Traffic”
area is defined as useable space within
a room excluding cupboard/storerooms, built
in storage space, bath/shower space, stairs
or under kitchen worktops. |
| |
|
|
Because
the “Living Heat” floor
heating system heats homes through
the floors, the air temperature is
always greatest at floor level and
decreases steadily toward the ceiling.
The moisture content of the room is
more stable and healthy. Unlike forced
air heat, radiant heat is less likely
to dry out your breathing passages,
your skin or your furniture. |
|
|
| |
|
| |
| Because the air is not
dehumidified, it feels several degrees warmer
than it really is. For each degree lower temperature,
you save energy and money. “Living Heat”
under floor heating does not require any fans
or blowers, so it is quiet and dust-free.
Because the heat source is located within
the floor itself, there are no hot radiators
for children to touch or to complicate furniture
placement. With “Living Heat”
under floor heating you gain full use of your
floor space. |
